softly breaking,
C7

with a child gently nestled at her side,
and I stood there in the doorway, and you know I
felt so happy, that I cried.
C Cmaj7
I recall when I was lonely, how I wandered
through the city,
C7 F

G F C

remember lonely nights.
C Cmaj7

house and garden,
C7 F
with some weekends camped along some gurglin'
stream,
G
F C
and that 9 to 5 existence is worthwhile, cause
they're waitin' home for me.
C Cmaj7

would've believed it,
C7 F
that this simple life would open up my eyes,
G F C
I can watch my family playing, and you know I
feel so happy, I could cry.
