D.B. Cooper Blues

In high school and college I lived in South Seattle (Burien) just a few blocks from the

Seatac Airport, and the DB Cooper story has always fascinated me.

C

Thanksgiving evening, up in the sky,  Northwest airlines, 305,   Nov. 24, 1971

plain looking man in a business suit, and you've seen my briefcase, so don't act cute,

              F                                C                          G                                C

and he took the money, and jumped,  and he took the money, and jumped.

Started in Portland, handed a note,  "Got me a bomb" was all he wrote,

They flew him to Seatac, to get refueled,  where he got the money, and the parachutes,

and he took the money, and jumped,  and he took the money, and jumped.

Flew out of Seatac, to Mexico, all by himself, said  " fly me low",

Pilot saw the stair light on, and before they knew it, the guy was gone,

he had took the money, and jumped,  and he took the money, and jumped.

So did he make it, we'll never know, the police and the FBI said no

If the wind didn't kill him, the river would, but of course that's saying just what they should,

and he took the money, and jumped,  and he took the money, and jumped.
