one of the rooms on
the main floor.

knew.

2 chairs, where once sat a young couple, A courtin' time, each hoping love
would grow,

in time, they became lovers, And those 2 chairs, would watch our family grow.

warm Spring day, a wedding party, Gathered round, to hear them say their
"I do's",

Guitar
and songs, heard till wee hours, A man and wife, whispering "I love
you",

those 2 chairs, they made plans for the nursery, What if a girl, and what if
it's a boy,

And
in time, came happy children, To fill our house, and to fill their lives with
joy.

those 2 chairs, they talked of kindergarten, First day of school, I hope the
weather's fair,

And
don't forget, the bus comes early, He'll need a lunch, and don't forget to comb
his hair.

those 2 chairs, they talked about recitals, she'll need a dress, and ribbons
for her hair,

there were plays, and music lessons, just turn around, there's a young man
standing there.

snowy night, corsage, tuxedo, the senior prom, do you recall when we went,
dear,

I'll
never sleep, until the car's back, I worry so, I wish I could be there.

those 2 chairs, they heard about the dance band, the high school gym, decorated
fine,

Just
turn around, they're off to college, their letters home, gee, are they still
mine?

those 2 chairs, they planned for graduations, got that first job, can they make
it on their own,

And
then one day, the house was empty, the babies gone, and now we're all
alone.

those 2 chairs, they heard she was
expecting, What if a girl, and what if it's a boy,

in time, came their grandchildren, To fill their house, and again their lives
with joy.

those 2 chairs, they talked about the future, whatever comes, we have each other,

then one day, the chairs were empty, 2 rich full lives, and now we shed our
tears.
